BECAUSE I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE, MY LORD.
......

WHO KNOWS WHERE HE MIGHT HIDE THE MUSIC BOX IN THE MEANTIME?
BESIDES, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I GET HURT.
...YOU REALLY ARE IMPOSSIBLE.

...FINE, JUST STAY STILL.
WAS THAT THE FIFTH SHOT?

A WATCH?

SIXTH SHOT.
....!!

DAMN IT...!
UNSKILLED, DRIVEN BY EMOTION,
WITH A SLOW RATE OF FIRE AND SLUGGISH SHELL EJECTION.

HE'S SO CALM.
HIS REPUTATION AS A HERO WASN'T AN EXAGGERATION AFTER ALL.

OVER A MINUTE TO RELOAD A SIX-SHOT REVOLVER...?
YOU'RE CERTAINLY NO PROFESSIONAL.
?!

SINCE YOU WERE KIND ENOUGH TO PREPARE A STAGE FOR US,

WE MIGHT AS WELL MAKE GOOD USE OF IT.

MY LORD...,
YOUNG DUKE!
FOLLOW ME DOWN.

I'LL WRAP THIS UP IN FIVE MINUTES.

THAT'S NOT IT...!
WE'RE ON THE SECOND FLOOR...!

UNBELIEVABLE...

DAMN IT...!

VALONAIN.
WHAT A CLEVER SETUP.

"A BITTER LEFTOVER FROM AN ENEMY NATION
CRASHES A THEATER FULL OF NOBLES, TURNING IT INTO A SCENE OF CARNAGE."
NATURALLY, THE AUDIENCE WOULD DIRECT THEIR RESENTMENT TOWARD THE TARGET.
ESPECIALLY IF THAT TARGET IS NOTORIOUS TRASH FLAUNTING A FLING ON HIS ARM.

MEANWHILE, THE PRINCESS BECOMES THE TRAGIC HEROINE
WHOSE PAINSTAKINGLY PREPARED PERFORMANCE WAS RUINED BY HER IMMORAL FIANCÉ?
YOU REALLY EXCEL AT UNDERHANDED SCHEMES.

...DID SHE PROMISE TO FREE YOUR FAMILY FROM A PRISONER-OF-WAR CAMP IF YOU JUST FIRED A FEW SHOTS?
H-HOW DID YOU...,

UNFORTUNATE FOR YOU,
BUT YOU LATCHED ONTO A ROTTEN LIFELINE.

A SHOOTING, OF ALL THINGS!
HOW UTTERLY BARBARIC...!

REST ASSURED, EVERYONE.
...LORD BLACKWOOD!
HOW COULD YOU ACT SO NONCHALANTLY? WE WERE ALMOST SHOT RIGHT HERE IN THE CAPITAL!
AS EVERYONE PRESENT IS WELL AWARE,
THE LONG WAR ENDED IN BLANSTEIN'S VICTORY.
THE SITUATION IS ENTIRELY UNDER CONTROL,
SO THERE IS NO NEED FOR US TO BE SHAKEN BY A DISTURBANCE

CAUSED BY A VALONAIN WHO REFUSES TO ACCEPT DEFEAT.
HOWEVER...
IT IS TRULY REGRETTABLE THAT SUCH A MAGNIFICENT PLAY WAS RUINED.
...I SHUDDER TO THINK HOW FAR OUT OF HAND THIS COULD HAVE GOTTEN IF HE HADN'T SUBDUED THE ATTACKER QUICKLY...

REGARDLESS, THE YOUNG DUKE THREW HIMSELF INTO HARM'S WAY TO NEUTRALIZE THE ASSAILANT.

BELLA.

COME HERE.
