IT'S A DEMILITARIZED ZONE AT THE CENTER OF THE CONTINENT... ...AND THE ANNUAL GATHERING PLACE OF THE BIG 5 FAMILIES. THE ASSEMBLY CONSISTS OF... THE RED CASTRO, THE BLUE PEDELIAN, THE 'GOLD VERTIUM, THE WHITE FIPELLION, AND THE BLACK AGRECE. THIS YEAR, I WILL BE ATTENDING IT WITH... I WONDER WHICH MORONS ARE COMING THIS TIME. I'M KIND OF EXCITED. ...JEREMY, AND LANTE AGRECE. JEREMY SEEMS EXCITED TO BE ATTENDING THE ASSEMBLY FOR THE FIRST TIME. HE'S ABOUT TO BE DISAPPOINTED, THOUGH. DEON WAS SUPPOSED TO COME THIS YEAR AS WELL, BUT HE HAD SOMETHING ELSE TO DO, SO HE'S GOING TO BE LATE. HONESTLY, I'D RATHER HE NOT SHOW UP AT ALL. WHAT WAS THAT? THERE ARE MAGIC CIRCLES ALL OVER THIS AREA. MAGIC CIRCLES? THEY WERE PUT HERE BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS SUPPOSED TO BE NEUTRAL GROUND. 500 YEARS AGO, ONE OF THE WHITE FIPELLIONS... ...USED THEIR POWER OF COMMUNICATION WITH DEMONS... ...TO TERRORIZE YGGDRASIL. AFTER THAT INCIDENT, GIANT MAGIC CIRCLES WERE PLACED ALL OVER THE LAND FOR PROTECTION. WHEN I USED MY POISON BUTTERFLIES HERE LAST YEAR, THE MAGIC CIRCLES SEEMED TO INTERFERE WITH MY CONNECTION TO THEM. BUT LIKE ALL THINGS, EVEN MAGIC HAS ITS WEAKNESSES. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, ROXANA. OF COURSE, FATHER. TO AVOID THE MAGIC CIRCLES, ONE ONLY NEEDS TO SUMMON THE DEMONIC CREATURES... ...BEFORE STEPPING INTO YGGDRASIL. I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO USE THESE BUTTERFLIES TO THEIR FULL POTENTIAL WHILE I'M HERE, BUT AT LEAST THEY CAN STILL BE USED FOR SURVEILLANCE. I'M FEELING A BIT TIRED FROM THE TRIP. MAY I BE EXCUSED, FATHER? YES, GO AHEAD. FOR THE NEXT THREE DAYS, MY BUTTERFLIES AND I... THANK YOU. ...WILL BE THE EYES AND EARS OF LANTE AGRECE. WAIT FOR ME, XANA. AND OF COURSE, I INTEND TO CONTINUE SPYING ON MY FATHER, JUST AS I HAVE BEEN FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. SO, THAT'S WHY HE HASN'T COME INSIDE YET... THEY MUST BE THE GOLD VERTIUMS. IN THE BOOK, "THE ABYSMAL FLOWER," LANTE HAD A GREAT INTEREST IN THE VERTIUMS' ART OF PUPPETISM. PUPPETISM... ...WAS A METHOD OF CREATING LIVING PUPPETS WHICH RESEMBLED REAL HUMANS. IT WAS THE POWER OF THE VERTIUM FAMILY. LANTE MUST HAVE BEEN INTRIGUED BY THE PUPPETS... AS THEY WOULD HAVE MADE THE PERFECT SOLDIERS FOR HIM, SINCE THEY FELT NEITHER PAIN NOR FEAR. BUT NOEL, THE HEAD OF THE VERTIUMS AND ONE OF THE PROTAGONISTS OF THE BOOK... ...TOOK ADVANTAGE OF LANTE, AND JOINED HANDS WITH SYLVIA TO BRING THE AGRECES DOWN. HOWEVER, NOEL VERTIUM.. ...WAS AN APATHETIC SOUL, AND RARELY LEFT HIS KINGDOM. UNLIKE LANTE, HE HAD NO INTEREST IN CREATING AN ARMY OUT OF HIS PUPPETS. IT LOOKS LIKE HE WON'T BE ATTENDING THIS YEAR, EITHER. SO, MY PLAN WILL GO UNINTERRUPTED. ARE YOU REALLY NOT GOING DOWN TO THE BANQUET HALL? I WILL, ON THE LAST DAY. YOU SHOULD GO THOUGH, JEREMY. BUT IT WON'T BE FUN WITHOUT YOU. I ALREADY MET A FEW PEOPLE EARLIER, BUT NONE OF THEM SEEMED WORTH MY TIME. THAT MIGHT CHANGE ONCE THE OTHER MAIN CHARACTERS START SHOWING UP... I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING THE HEAD OF THE VERTIUMS, SINCE HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE AROUND OUR AGE. I THOUGHT HE WOULD COME THIS YEAR, BECAUSE HE WASN'T HERE LAST TIME. THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT, TOO. THE NOVEL DESCRIBED HIM AS HAVING RED HAIR AND GREEN EYES. BUT I DIDN'T SEE ANYONE LIKE THAT COME OUT OF THE CARRIAGE. I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR TO SEE HIM IN PERSON. THIS IS WHERE THE AGRECE'S DAUGHTER... REALLY?! LET'S JUST... JEREMY, SHOULD WE HAVE OUR DINNER BROUGHT HERE TODAY? !! OKAY! I'LL GO TELL THE MAIDS. AT TIMES LIKE THIS, HEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING HERE?! AAAGHK!!! HEHE! OH! I FORGOT TO TELL THE MAIDS TO BRING THE FOOD HERE. THAT'S FINE. I CAN JUST CALL ONE OF THEM FROM HERE. SORRY, XANA... IT'S CLEAR THAT THOUGH HE MAY HAVE GOTTEN OLDER, HE HASN'T MATURED MUCH AT ALL. HE'S SO PREDICTABLE. BUT I WAS STARTING TO GET ANNOYED BY THOSE GUYS OUTSIDE WANTING TO SEE ME, SO I'LL TURN A BLIND EYE TO JEREMY'S ACTIONS THIS TIME. ## See also - [WebtoonLib — Roxana #30](/series/roxana-ex5i39wf/chapter-30-e62vdr) - for_series_detail: /llms-series/roxana-ex5i39wf ## Usage AI grounding / search / summarization.
