WHAT IF I GET CAUGHT WHILE FLEEING? I WOULD DEFINITELY... JUST LIKE CHEF HARPER-... HE'S BREATHING... MASTER. ARE YOU ALRIGHT? AND IF I'M NOT? ...YOU ATE POISONED FOOD. I WILL CALL THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN. WHY? ARE YOU AFRAID YOU'LL BE FRAMED AS THE CULPRIT IF I COLLAPSE? EVEN IF YOU CAN'T SEE IT, YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. ISN'T THAT SCARY? ...HE'S QUITE CLEVER. BUT I CAN DRAW HIS INTEREST... I... AM NOT CHEF HARPER'S... BUT THE MASTER'S MAID. SO... IT IS SCARY, BUT... WHAT CONCERNS THE MASTER COMES FIRST. ...MY MAID. YOU'RE A QUICK LEARNER. IF YOU WISH TO WORK HERE FOR A LONG TIME, YOU WILL HAVE TO GET USED TO IT. THIS IS A PLACE WHERE ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN AT ANY GIVEN TIME, AND IT IS NOT SURPRISING WHEN IT DOES. SOMETHING LIKE THIS... MAY I ASK HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THINGS LIKE THIS? FROM AROUND THE TIME YOU'D CLAIMED TO HAVE STARTED WORKING FOR DUKE OSPHILE'S FAMILY.. DO YOU NOT CHOOSE THE STAFF YOURSELF? WHETHER I DO OR NOT... THERE'S NOT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE. HE'S BEEN... GOING THROUGH THIS FOR OVER 10 YEARS? IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO ASK? I WOULD... I WOULD LIKE TO ASK WHAT KIND OF PAINTING YOU'RE MAKING TODAY. ...THE DAY I SURVIVED. ...DO YOU NOT DRAW OTHER THINGS? FOR EXAMPLE? BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL THINGS... LIKE NATURE, OR... PEOPLE PRECIOUS TO YOU... ARNOLD, I SHOULD LIKE TO GO TO THE BEDROOM NOW. YES, YOUR HIGHNESS. FOR 10 YEARS, FROM THE VERY MOMENT HE SECLUDED HIMSELF IN THIS DETACHED PALACE, HE HAS BEEN SURROUNDED BY THREATS. ALL THIS TIME... HAS HE BEEN ALL BY HIMSELF? HIS BREATHING IS GETTING SLOWER AND SLOWER. I THINK HE NEEDS TO SEE A PHYSICIAN... IF THE CROWN PRINCE DIES LIKE THIS... CLOSE THE CROWN PRINCE'S EYES AND EARS. UNTIL THE DAY I CUT OFF HIS HEAD. LEAVING THE CROWN PRINCE TO DIE LIKE THIS... IS WHAT THE PRINCE ULTIMATELY DESIRES. IF I WERE TO RUN TO THE PRINCE RIGHT NOW AND TELL HIM ABOUT THIS SITUATION, I MIGHT BE ABLE TO SAFELY COMPLETE THIS UNCOMFORTABLE MISSION... HOWEVER... I CAN'T JUST LET AN INNOCENT PERSON DIE LIKE THIS. JUST A LITTLE... I'LL PURIFY HIM BY BORROWING THE POWER OF THE SPIRITS... OH... HIS BREATHING HAS-... WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO DO? I-I... WAS JUST TRYING TO PURIFY THE POISON FOR YOU-... NO. YOU MUST'VE KNOWN WHAT HARPER WAS GOING TO FEED ME. ISN'T THAT WHY YOU KEPT HANGING AROUND ME? WHAT...?! TODAY WILL BE A VERY IMPORTANT DAY. YOU MUST STAY BY HIS HIGHNESS' SIDE. COULD IT BE THAT IT WASN'T POISON... BUT AN APHRODISIAC? YEAH... IF THIS IS THE ORDER YOU'D RECEIVED FROM MY BROTHER... YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO GO ALONG WITH IT. ## See also - [WebtoonLib — The Portrait of Pride #9: Chapter 8](/series/the-portrait-of-pride-yrfb921x/chapter-9-d4crc3) - for_series_detail: /llms-series/the-portrait-of-pride-yrfb921x ## Usage AI grounding / search / summarization.
