Bleach: New Visual in 'Thousand-Year Blood War' Retrospective Project and Free Release on YouTube

Bleach fans have reason to be delighted: The retrospective project 'TV ANIMATION BLEACH THE STORIES', focusing on the series' final major story arc 'Thousand-Year Blood War', has released its fifth special visual. Additionally, selected episodes of the anime series are available for free on YouTube. This promotion celebrates the series' approximately 20-year journey while allowing new fans easy access to the final arc.
According to Japanese news site Natalie, the new visual released as part of the project features Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach facing off. The visual emphasizes the dark atmosphere of the war and the tension between the two powerful characters. This is the fifth special design, following visuals focusing on Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and other arcs. The project refreshes the series' visual memory by covering each major story in turn.
Meanwhile, certain important episodes of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc have been made available for free for a limited time on Aniplex's official YouTube channel. The release will continue until March 31, 2025, Japan time. Fans can thus relive exciting moments from the beginning of the arc or visually striking scenes. It also provides a good entry point for viewers new to the series.
Bleach is a legendary series created by mangaka Tite Kubo and serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016. After the original anime aired from 2004 to 2012, the final arc, Thousand-Year Blood War, was revived with new animation in 2022 and planned in three cours. The final cour is expected to air in late 2024 / early 2025. This retrospective project is an important step for both old fans to experience nostalgia and new viewers to warm up to the series.
So why is this important? Thousand-Year Blood War depicts one of the biggest conflicts in the Bleach universe and reveals many secrets about Ichigo's past. Kubo's way of concluding the story was eagerly awaited by many fans; the anime adaptation fills some missing scenes from the manga, offering a more satisfying experience. The project's latest visual and free releases will further boost excitement before the final season. New trailers and possibly a release date announcement may come in the following months. Stay tuned!
