This Privacy Policy describes how WebtoonLib ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name. If you sign in through Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform, including pages visited, reading history, search queries, and device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution).
Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand how our platform is used. When advertising is enabled, our advertising partner may also set cookies or similar identifiers on your device. Those are not required for the site to work, and clearing them does not affect your account.

3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform (hosting, analytics, email delivery) and, when advertising is enabled, with our advertising partner. Some privacy laws define "sale" or "sharing" broadly enough to cover the data an advertising partner collects for interest-based advertising; the Advertising section below explains what is collected and how to opt out. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.
4. Advertising
When advertising is enabled, we display advertising on chapter reading pages. Advertising does not run on any other part of the site.
Our advertising partner is Monetag (privacy policy). When an ad is served, the partner's script runs in your browser and can receive your IP address, user agent, referring page, and the address of the page you are viewing. It can also read and write cookies or similar identifiers on your device, and may use them for interest-based advertising and profiling across sites.
You can opt out of interest-based advertising through the partner's privacy policy linked above, and through industry opt-out tools such as optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com. Clearing your browser cookies also removes the identifiers stored on your device.
On our own side we keep short-lived technical counters whose only purpose is to limit how often ads appear: how many ads you have already been shown today, when the last one was, and how many chapters you have opened. These are stored under a pseudonymous key derived from your account or your visit identifier, kept for about 48 hours, and then deleted automatically. We do not use them for targeting and we do not build an advertising profile from them.
Beyond that short window we keep aggregate figures only: daily totals split by guest and member, with no per-person record.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
