Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi) Anime Adaptation Coming: An Unexpected Adventure of a Passive Hero

One more beloved fantasy series is stepping into the anime world. The manga Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi) has officially announced it will receive a TV anime adaptation. The news was first reported by Japanese manga and anime news site Natalie, and it was revealed that the production studio is Passione, along with a teaser visual and a special promotional video.
The series has a very interesting premise: Our protagonist is actually an ordinary person with no knowledge of alchemy. However, by coincidence, he has to introduce himself as a "great alchemist," and his life built on this lie becomes increasingly complicated. This comedy-drama blend story, penned by original story author Sugiura Jiro, came to life in manga format with Ume Maru's successful illustrations. The manga began serialization on the Comic Fire platform in 2020 and quickly gained readers' appreciation.
The release date of the anime adaptation has not been announced yet, but considering studio Passione's experience, a high-quality production is expected. Passione has previously worked on titles such as "High School DxD Hero", "Rokka no Yuusha", and "The Fruit of Grisaia", and is known especially for its success in character-driven fantasy stories. With this new project, the studio aims to bring the internal conflicts and humorous adventures of the "fake alchemist" to the screen.
Other eagerly awaited details include the voice cast and streaming platform. For now, only a teaser visual and a short promotional video are available, but more comprehensive information is expected to be shared in the coming months. The series will be a must-watch for fans of works that deal with the theme of "identity built on lies." Stay tuned for updates!
