Let's Go Kaikigumi TV Anime Premieres July 5: New Cast and Details!

The long-awaited news for fans of Let's Go Kaikigumi (Rettsu Gō Kaikigumi), which blends horror and comedy with absurd humor, has finally arrived! According to the official announcement, the television anime adapted from the popular manga written by Byū will premiere in Japan on July 5, 2026. Along with the newly released promotional video, an important name joining the series' voice cast has also been announced.
Renowned voice actress Mayumi Shintani will bring the Cursed Doll character to life. Known for her roles as Haruko in FLCL and Nonon Jakuzure in Kill la Kill, Shintani's unique, energetic voice has already added great excitement to the series' bizarre atmosphere. The cast also includes talented names such as Tasuku Hatanaka (Protagonist), Ruriko Aoki (Mechako), and Yoshino Aoyama (Shurako). The legendary Shigeru Chiba serves as the series' narrator.
Behind the scenes, the anime features a highly experienced team. Produced by C-Station, the studio known for Laid-Back Camp, the series is directed by Yutaka Hirata. The screenplay and series composition are handled by Mutsumi Ito, while the character designs bear the signature of Yoshimitsu Yamashita. Additionally, the involvement of mysterious author Uketsu, known for The Strange House novel, in the music collaboration and ending theme is one of the elements reinforcing the series' supernatural vibe.
Let's Go Kaikigumi is based on a manga that was serialized on the Omocoro platform between 2018 and 2024, quickly gaining a cult following. The story follows an unnamed protagonist who is six times more sensitive (and cowardly) to supernatural events than a normal person, as they get involved with a strange organization led by Mechako. Showing how funny and human ghosts and cursed objects—which are supposed to be scary—can actually be, this production is a candidate to be one of the most original works of the summer season.
For anime lovers, July 5 will mark the beginning of an adventure that is both chilling and full of laughter. The series, which will be broadcast on TBS and its 27 affiliated channels, is specifically targeting viewers who enjoy genre-bending stories. Will Mechako and her team manage to save the reputation of supernatural beings in the modern world?
