A New "Time Loop" Horror from the Creator of Erased: Snowdrop Volume 1 is Out!

Kei Sanbe, one of the masters of the thriller and mystery genres and the creator of the globally acclaimed Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) series, is back with a new project that will keep fans glued to their screens (or turning pages rapidly). The first volume of the author's new manga, titled Snowdrop: Anata no Shi wo Nozomimasu (Snowdrop: I Want You to Die), hit shelves in Japan on June 25th under the Square Enix label.
The story is built on a highly unique concept described as "pendulum horror." Our protagonist, a high school girl, finds herself inexplicably repeating the date of February 13th every day. Experiencing the same nightmares every night and waking up to the same day, she must face strange phenomena and terrifying entities to escape this endless cycle. In this work, Sanbe uses the flow of time like a pendulum, drawing the reader into both psychological and supernatural suspense.
Many of us know the name Kei Sanbe from the Erased series, which was published between 2012 and 2016 and later adapted into a successful anime and a Netflix live-action series. Sanbe continued his mastery of themes involving time travel and correcting past mistakes in later works such as For the Kid I Saw in My Dreams and The 13th Footprint. His new series, Snowdrop, combines the "character racing against time" theme that has become the author's signature with an atmosphere of pure horror and desperation.
Serialized in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine, this new series offers a great opportunity for those who miss Sanbe's dark and immersive storytelling style. With the release of the first volume, fans have begun to eagerly wonder why the loop is specifically stuck on February 13th and what the protagonist will have to sacrifice to escape this nightmare. If you enjoy time-loop mysteries and psychological horror elements, Snowdrop is definitely a title that should be on your radar.
