Good News for Dandadan Fans: A Giant Animation Exhibition Begins in Tokyo!

We have exciting news for Dandadan fans! The Dandadan anime, adapted from Yukinobu Tatsu’s popular manga series and a global sensation, is being celebrated with a special exhibition that sheds light on its production process. This comprehensive event, titled "Dandadan Animation Works", will take place from April 22 to May 11 in Tokyo's famous shopping district, Ginza, at the event space on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza.
The exhibition offers a deep dive into the visual world of the anime. Visitors will be able to witness the evolution of the animation in special viewing areas covering the first and second parts of the series. Additionally, a massive area offering the chance to take photos with Great Kinta, one of the series' most striking and entertaining characters, will be waiting for fans. Such events provide a unique opportunity for passionate fans who want to see the hard work behind the animation, original drawings (genga), and production notes.
Dandadan first began serialization on the Shonen Jump+ platform in April 2021 and quickly became one of the most-read works on the platform. Yukinobu Tatsu, who previously worked as an assistant to names like Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man) and Yuji Kaku (Hell's Paradise), uniquely blends supernatural entities, aliens, and romantic comedy elements in this series. The anime adaptation, brought to life by the Science SARU studio, has turned into a visual and auditory feast with the touches of director Fuga Yamashiro and composer Kensuke Ushio.
This exhibition crowns Dandadan's success not just as a manga, but as a global pop culture phenomenon. Following the first season that began in October 2024, such large-scale events also increase expectations for the future of the series. If you have the chance to be in Tokyo during those dates, you should definitely add this exhibition to your list to take a closer look at the bizarre world of Momo Ayase and Ken "Okarun" Takakura. A store selling special licensed merchandise is also expected to open after the exhibition.
