Detective Conan: The First 12 Minutes of Highway no Datenshi to Air on Television!

There is an exciting development for Detective Conan fans! The 29th feature film in the series, Detective Conan: Highway no Datenshi (The Fallen Angel of the Highway), which was released in Japan on April 10, 2026, and took the box office by storm, is coming to television screens. On May 22, the highly anticipated first 12 minutes of the film will be broadcast uninterrupted and uncensored on Nippon TV's popular Friday Roadshow block.
This special screening will follow the broadcast of Minions: The Rise of Gru. Set in Yokohama, the story revolves around a mysterious black motorcycle (Lucifer) that goes out of control during the Kanagawa Motorcycle Festival. As Chihaya Hagiwara, the Kanagawa Traffic Police officer known as the "Goddess of the Wind," pursues this dangerous rider, Conan Edogawa and his friends once again find themselves in the middle of a high-paced mystery. The film takes the action to its peak, especially with the clash between the motorcycles codenamed "Angel" and "Lucifer."
The production draws attention not only with its action but also with its emotional depth. Master voice actress Miyuki Sawashiro has taken over the role of Chihaya Hagiwara following the passing of Atsuko Tanaka last year. However, the saddest detail for fans was the passing of Wakana Yamazaki, who voiced Ran Mouri for 30 years, on April 18, 2026, shortly after the film's release. This film marks the final production in which Yamazaki voiced the character of Ran, and a special tribute to her is included in the closing credits.
The year 2026 holds great significance as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan series on television.
