MAPPA Celebrates 15th Anniversary: Music Video Honoring Creativity Released

MAPPA, the studio that has left its mark on the last fifteen years of the anime world, has kicked off its 15th anniversary celebrations with a special music video. The video, titled “Art of Creation,” turns the studio's behind-the-scenes creative spirit—from drawing tables to digital effects—into a visual feast. The video also features scenes from the iconic works MAPPA has produced to date.
Founded in 2011 by legendary producer Masao Maruyama (former Madhouse CEO), the studio quickly became known for its quality and bold projects. Having etched its name in golden letters with works such as the final seasons of “Attack on Titan”, “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Chainsaw Man”, “Vinland Saga”, and “Yuri on Ice”, MAPPA is today one of the most respected studios in the industry. In its 15th-anniversary message, the studio said, “We have shared our imagination and passion in every frame. This is just the beginning.”
The celebrations won't be limited to the video. In September, the MAPPA EXPO exhibition will be held in the heart of Tokyo. The exhibition will feature concept drawings, storyboards, rare interviews, and live drawing workshops for all of the studio's projects from past to present. The event will be an experience where fans will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the studio's creative kitchen for the first time. Although the exact date of the event has not yet been announced, tickets are expected to attract great interest.
So why is this so important? MAPPA is not just a production house in the anime world; it is also a brand that invests in new-generation talent, takes risks, and undertakes visionary projects. The 15th-anniversary video and exhibition show the studio's confidence and gratitude toward its fans. What new projects MAPPA will announce in the coming months is a topic of curiosity. It is highly likely that details of last year's major hit “Chainsaw Man” movie and news of the third season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” will be shared at EXPO. It's time for anime fans to clear their calendars!
