My Hero Academia Anime Turns 10! New Visual and Special Final Episode Announced

One of the biggest phenomena in the popular anime world, My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia), has left behind a full 10 years since its first episode aired on April 3, 2016. To celebrate this major milestone, TOHO animation has announced the launch of a massive 10th-anniversary project that will excite fans. At the center of the celebrations is a special key visual showcasing the ten-year development of the series' main protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (Deku), and new anime content that will cover the series' epilogue.
The most notable news of the anniversary events is the announcement of a special episode titled "More". Scheduled for a worldwide release on Crunchyroll on May 2, 2026, this episode is adapted from chapter 431 of Kohei Horikoshi's original manga. Covering events after the series' official finale, this epilogue will focus on the adult lives of Deku and his classmates at U.A. High School eight years after their graduation. In particular, the character relationships that fans have long been curious about and the heroes' new roles in society will be explored in depth in this episode.
The celebrations are not limited to the screen; it has been announced that a world tour titled "My Hero Academia in Concert" will be held, accompanied by composer Yuki Hayashi, who created the series' iconic music. Starting in Yokohama on May 30, 2026, this concert tour will bring the series' most emotional and action-packed scenes to fans with a live orchestra. Additionally, to help new viewers catch up with the series, a marathon event has been launched on the official TOHO animation YouTube channel, where the first three seasons will be streamed for free for a limited time.
Brought to life by Studio Bones, My Hero Academia became one of the most important representatives of the modern shonen genre with its manga that began in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2014. Although the manga series, which sold over 100 million copies, ended in 2024, the anime adaptation has turned into a massive legacy with 8 seasons, 170 episodes, and 4 feature films. The 10th-anniversary project not only honors the past but also aims to provide an emotional closure for fans preparing to bid farewell to this legendary story.
