Great Success for Capcom's New Sci-Fi Epic Pragmata: 2 Million Sales in 16 Days!

Capcom's new sci-fi action-adventure game Pragmata, which was first announced in 2020 and has maintained its mystery ever since, has made a fast entry into the market. According to the official statement from the company, the game, which was released on April 17, 2026, reached 2 million sales worldwide in just 16 days. This success is considered a rare phenomenon in the gaming industry, especially for a completely new brand (IP) that is not based on any previous series.
The game takes place in a research station on the Moon in the near future. Players witness the story of systems engineer Hugh Williams and the mysterious android girl Diana who accompanies him. Trying to survive against a rogue artificial intelligence called IDUS, the duo searches for ways to return to Earth. The most striking aspect of the game is its innovative gameplay system that combines Hugh's shooter mechanics with Diana's hacking abilities.
Reaching this point was not easy for Pragmata. Following its 2020 announcement, the game faced consecutive delays in 2022 and 2023, and was even indefinitely postponed for a period. Director Cho Yonghee stated that the main reason for these delays was to establish the gameplay balance between the two characters and to perfect Diana's complex hacking mechanics. The development team expresses that they saw this process as an opportunity for young talents to prove themselves and that the result was worth the wait.
Capcom USA COO Rob Dyer signaled in his statement that they want to turn Pragmata into a long-running series following its success. Resident Evil and Monster Hunter
