New Label from Drecom and Manga Box: Dre Box – Focusing on Fantasy and Isekai Genres

Japan's digital manga publishing has seen another important collaboration. Game and app developer Drecom and popular digital manga platform Manga Box have officially announced a joint label, Dre Box. The label, which will initially launch with four series on shelves (and screens), plans to invest particularly in the fantasy and isekai genres.
The announcement was reported by Anime News Network on June 8, 2026. The goal of the new label is to offer high-quality, original series that appeal to the rapidly growing fantasy and isekai readership in the digital space. Drecom's experience in the gaming industry, combined with Manga Box's broad reader base and digital distribution infrastructure, makes this partnership meaningful. Although the names of the first four series have not yet been revealed, it has been stated that the label will focus on series with “RPG-like worlds and themes of transitioning to other dimensions.”
This move once again demonstrates how big a market the isekai genre, which has exploded in recent years, has become in the world of manga and manhwa. While Manga Box is known for its labels that have previously opened doors for independent creators, Drecom's success in mobile games (for example, adaptations of popular series) also adds gamification potential to this new label. In other words, it would not be surprising if series from Dre Box later receive anime or game adaptations.
The first four series are expected to be introduced in the coming weeks. It is not yet clear whether Dre Box will follow a digital-first model or eventually move into physical printing. However, considering Manga Box's digital roots, it is highly likely that the label will initially publish entirely digitally. This label, which brings a fresh breath for fantasy and isekai fans, could further increase the popularity of these genres in the coming period.
