HarperCollins Launches Kazé Manga Imprint for the US Market

Major publisher HarperCollins has announced that it will launch the Kazé Manga imprint for the US market, taking a significant step in the manga world. This move will strengthen the presence of the Kazé brand in America, which has a large fan base especially in Europe. The first introduction will take place at the Anime NYC event, to be held in New York from August 22-24, 2025, where the publisher will host a panel for industry professionals.
Kazé has a long history of licensing manga and anime, particularly in European countries such as France and Germany. The brand has previously handled local-language releases of popular series like Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and One Piece. While it is not yet clear which series HarperCollins will focus on in the US with this imprint, industry experts predict that the brand could bring both classic and current popular series to American readers.
This development marks an important turning point in the globalization of the manga industry. With the rise of digital platforms and online reading apps in recent years, physical manga sales have also seen a resurgence. The entry of a giant publisher like HarperCollins into this field will increase competition among both independent publishers and major players. Additionally, Kazé's success in Europe could create a similar impact in the US market.
The Anime NYC panel is critical for revealing the new imprint's strategy and initial release list. Fans are eagerly awaiting which series will be chosen for the first wave and what the translation quality will be like. This initiative by HarperCollins seems poised to contribute to the growth of the manga industry while offering readers a wider range of content.
