New Date for The Legend of Zelda Live-Action Film: Link and Zelda Arrive in 2027!

The calendar for the big-screen journey of The Legend of Zelda, one of the most iconic series in the gaming world, is starting to become clear. According to an official statement by Nintendo, the live-action film adaptation of the series will be released worldwide on April 30, 2027. The date, previously announced as May 7, 2027, has been moved up by one week thanks to positive progress in the production process. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto stated in a social media post that the team is working with great passion to bring the film to fans even a day earlier.
The film is directed by Wes Ball, known for the Maze Runner trilogy and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. It is produced by Miyamoto alongside Avi Arad, the name behind the Spider-Man films. The project stands out as a massive collaboration between Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment; while more than 50% of the film's financing is provided by Nintendo itself, Sony will handle worldwide distribution. In hints regarding the film's atmosphere, director Wes Ball emphasized that he wants to present viewers with a mesmerizing and epic Hyrule that feels like a "live-action Hayao Miyazaki film."
Exciting details regarding the cast continue to emerge as well. Young talent Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will bring the character of Link to life, while we will see Bo Bragason in the role of Princess Zelda. It is known that the film's shooting is taking place in the unique nature of New Zealand, just like in the Lord of the Rings series. This location choice
