New Manga Label from Dricom and Manga Box: DRE Box Focuses on Isekai and Fantasy Genres

One of Japan's leading game developers Dricom has joined forces with digital manga platform Manga Box to announce a brand new manga label DRE Box (Dori Box). The label, officially launched today, June 6, focuses particularly on the isekai (other world) and fantasy genres. In its first wave, four new series have begun to meet readers sequentially on the Manga Box app and browser version.
Dricom is a company previously known for popular mobile games like Alice Gear Aegis and Priconne!. Manga Box, on the other hand, is a digital manga platform owned by DeNA that releases new chapters weekly. This partnership between the two companies further blurs the line between the gaming world and the manga world. The publishers state that the new label aims to offer high-quality works especially in the isekai and fantasy genres. These genres have seen a huge boom in recent years both in Japan and globally; productions like Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero, and KonoSuba can be counted among the pioneers of this trend.
The names of the first four series have not been fully disclosed yet, but according to the announcement from Dricom and Manga Box, the series will feature different isekai themes: interesting premises such as a hero discovering a hidden power in one, and a god's child singing at night in another. These series will be published weekly on Manga Box. Previously, Dricom emphasized visual novel-style storytelling in its games; with this new label, the company is expected to bring the same narrative strength to the manga world.
Why is this partnership important? As digital platforms become increasingly prominent in the manga industry, investment in manga by major game companies is diversifying the sector. The combination of a gaming giant like Dricom with Manga Box's large user base means a fresh breath for isekai and fantasy fans. We can especially expect to see previously unexplored storylines and visual styles in these genres. Additionally, the DRE Box label may eventually move to physical printing; although it is currently digital-focused, it would not be surprising to see successful series appear on shelves as tankōbon volumes.
In the coming days, we may witness new series announcements from DRE Box and potentially the next big isekai hit. Readers using the Manga Box app can start following the label's first four series right away. It is worth keeping an eye on Manga Box's official channels and Dricom's announcements for the new release schedule and detailed introductions.
