New Manga from "Usseewa" Illustrator WOOMA and Yukiaki Kurando: "Kimi no Kao de Boku ni Kiss shite" Arrives in June

An exciting collaboration in the manga world is on the horizon! WOOMA, who created the iconic illustrations for Ado's globally acclaimed song "Usseewa," is now picking up the pen for a new manga series. Joining forces with renowned author Yukiaki Kurando, the artist will bring their new series, Kimi no Kao de Boku ni Kiss shite (Kiss Me With Your Face), to readers on June 15.
The series will begin its publication run in the July issue of Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine. The story is set in a school governed by a strict hierarchy system. It follows the intersection of the paths of Shikima, an A-rank student at the top of the hierarchy, and Azuki, an E-rank student at the very bottom, following an unexpected incident, and explores the extraordinary relationship that develops between them. This narrative, centered on class differences and social status, is already sparking curiosity.
Author Yukiaki Kurando is particularly known for his success in the psychological thriller and drama genres. Having previously worked on the Dolly Kill Kill series with Blue Lock illustrator Yusuke Nomura, Kurando also has a large fan base for his dark-themed works such as Jaa, Kimi no Kawari ni Korosō ka? and Kimi ga Bokura wo Akuma to Yonda. WOOMA, on the other hand, created a visual revolution in the J-Pop world with their sharp lines, dark aesthetic, and modern style; this project is seen as one of the biggest steps in the artist's manga career.
This collaboration signals a highly ambitious production in both visual and narrative terms. With Kurando's immersive storytelling combined with WOOMA's unique aesthetic, we can say that an emotional and suspense-filled school drama awaits readers. When the series hits the shelves on June 15, it will be an unmissable start for fans of the genre. Manga lovers who especially enjoy modern art styles should definitely add this series to their lists!
