It doesn't erase his ego, it reframes it. He still needs to be the best, even at looking after his team, and that contradiction makes him more human than ever. Equally charming is the blossoming dynamic between Seishiro Nagi and Hyoma Chigiri. Nagi, still detached and lazy after abandoning Reo, finds an easy, low-pressure rhythm with Chigiri, while Chigiri finally gets to show off his confident, radiant personality after overcoming his injury trauma and surviving elimination. Their laid-back bestie energy provides a perfect foil to the constant Isagi-Barou clash of predators. Plot-wise, not much moves forward in terms of matches, but emotionally this breather is crucial. It cements this team as more than just a cold, logical choice for speed and talent. They are starting to develop real chemistry, which makes the stakes for their next challenge against Rin Itoshi feel even higher. Nomura's art shines here too, trading explosive action lines for expressive, comedic reactions and soft character moments that let the boys' personalities pop. It's the calm before the storm, and we're savoring every wholesome second.
