Whew, Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp Chapter 114 definitely had readers collectively facepalming! 🤦♀️ The star (or rather, anti-stars) of this chapter were undoubtedly the two "dumb and dumber" noblemen who decided a public duel was the perfect solution to their political squabbles.
Readers were utterly baffled, calling their antics "embarrassing," "ridiculous," and a major PR disaster for their families and parties. Many couldn't get over the absurdity of a duel in a crowded square with no medical help – leading to hilarious comparisons to *Hamilton's* "10 Duel Commandments" and even the Montague/Capulet feud! 🎭 There was widespread frustration that these "smelly old farts" took up so much valuable chapter space, especially when the political plot felt so outlandish for a "Fake 19th Century Europe" setting.
Amidst the eye-rolling, there were also poignant thoughts about Linden's past and the lingering guilt from actions taken when he was a child, highlighting how these adult feuds victimized innocent children. While some readers just wished for "all the sorrowful things in one go," others are now excitedly wondering if Elise will swoop in to save the day (and perhaps the duelists too!). 🩺 Overall, it seems Chapter 114 left everyone wanting a bit less childish drama and a lot more… well, anything else! 😂
