THEY ARE THOSE WHO LOVE SECRETS AND RELISH GOSSIP.

THEY ARE THOSE WHO SURRENDER THEIR BODIES TO SIMPLE PLEASURES.

WHAT HAPPENS IN LAMER PARK STAYS IN LAMER.

I MUST NEVER DISCLOSE WHAT HAPPENS HERE TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD,

AND EVEN IF WE RECOGNIZE ONE ANOTHER, WE MUST PRETEND NOT TO KNOW.

SHOULD ANYONE BREAK THAT RULE...

THEY SHALL NEVER SET FOOT HERE AGAIN.

YOU CAN DO THIS.

YOU CAN DO THIS, ALICIA.

WAIT.

THAT VOICE...

IT COULDN'T BE...!

INTO THE DARKNESS.

TO A PLACE WITHOUT A SINGLE GLIMMER OF LIGHT.

IF ONLY I COULD, TO A PLACE WHERE EVEN THE MOONLIGHT CANNOT REACH...!

I SAID, STOP.

IT WAS YOU, AFTER ALL.

WHY OF ALL THINGS...

DID I HAVE TO RUN INTO YOU HERE AT LAMER PARK...

YOU CERTAINLY RUN WELL IN THE DARK.

NO!

...HAVE WE MET BEFORE?

IF YOU DON'T ANSWER, I'LL REMOVE THIS MASK.

ALONG WITH THE SHAWL AND DRESS.

WOULD YOU BE FINE WITH THAT?

I AM AWARE... THAT YOUR GRACE HAS A WIFE.

I KNEW THAT, YET I KEPT MY MOUTH SHUT AND CONVEYED MY REFUSAL, DIDN'T I?

SO YOUR GRACE SHOULD STOP THIS NOW.

IF YOU ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE YOU'VE TAKEN A LIKING TO ME DESPITE THAT,

THEN JUST ONCE...

...MY APOLOGIES.

IT SEEMS I'VE MISTAKEN YOU FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

PLEASE FORGIVE MY RUDENESS.

I'LL TAKE MY LEAVE THEN.

LYERVINE MANSION

MY LADY!

ARE YOU ALRIGHT, MY LADY?

You're sweating so much...!

PREPARE MY NIGHTGOWN IMMEDIATELY. WHAT ABOUT THE BATHWATER?

IT'S READY.

IT'S DARK, PLEASE TAKE IT SLOW...!

I'M FINE.

I'LL GO ALONE, SO... COULD YOU WATCH AND SEE IF HE'S COMING?

YES...!

Haah...

WHEN DID MY WIFE FALL ASLEEP?

SHE FELL ASLEEP BEFORE MIDNIGHT.

SHE SEEMED TO HAVE A BIT OF A COLD, SO I GAVE HER SOME MEDICINE, AND SHE IS SLEEPING SOUNDLY.

A COLD?

HIS SCENT.

THE FAINT SMELL OF TOBACCO LEAVES

REMINDS ME OF THE MOMENT I WAS HELD BY HIM.

THE BIRCH FOREST IN FRONT OF LYERVINE MANSION.

TO ME, WHO CANNOT DISTINGUISH COLORS, IT SPARKLES BEAUTIFULLY LIKE GLASS BEADS,

BUT IT IS LIKELY JUST THE LIGHT FROM THE LEAVES SWAYING IN THE MOONLIGHT.

AS THE DARKNESS DEEPENS, MY VISION BECOMES CLEARER.

LIGHT WAS A PRISON TO ME,

AND DARKNESS IS FREEDOM.

I NEVER IMAGINED I WOULD MEET HIM THERE.

MY TIME IS FADING.

AND HIS TIME IS DAWNING.

Chapter Summary

Glass Forest Episode Draft 1 follows Alicia as she gathers her courage to enter Lamer Park, which is bound by rules of secrecy, and is shaken when she encounters a familiar voice there. Chased and threatened by a masked man, Alicia tells him to stop, saying she knows he is married, then backs off, saying she mistook him for someone else. She returns sweaty at night to Lyervine Mansion, asking for a bath and solitude, while the scent of tobacco and the moonlit birch forest awaken in her a sense of freedom and running out of time.

Chapter Analysis: The Forest of Glass — Chapter 1

Chapter AnalysisThe Forest of Glass — Chapter 1
The Forest of Glass Chapter 1 introduces Alicia at a moment of nervous resolve as she forces herself to enter Lamer Park, a place governed by strict rules of secrecy. Her courage quickly unravels when she hears a familiar voice in the darkness, turning anticipation into panic and setting the tone for a chapter driven by fear and recognition. Much of the tension comes from her encounter with a masked man who chases and threatens her. Alicia pushes back by telling him to stop because she knows he is married, a choice that momentarily gives her power in an otherwise vulnerable situation. She then retreats from that accusation, claiming she mistook him for someone else, which leaves the confrontation unresolved and suggests she is trying to protect herself by defusing what she may have revealed. The Forest of Glass Chapter 1 uses that reversal to highlight her conflicting instincts to confront and to hide. Afterward, Alicia returns sweaty late at night to Lyervine Mansion and asks for a bath, solitude, and a lookout, emphasizing how shaken she remains. Her reflections on tobacco scent, the moonlit birch forest, clearer vision in the dark, and running out of time frame her return as both relief and dread. The Forest of Glass Chapter 1 therefore closes less with answers than with unease, establishing secrecy, mistaken identity, and emotional dependence as pressures already shaping Alicia's choices.
