Undead Unluck — Chapter 4

Chapter 4 pushes the chaotic partnership between Andy and Fuuko from a desperate suicide pact into something that actually feels like teamwork, and that shift is what makes it so fun to read. After their wild first meeting, Fuuko is still terrified of her own touch, convinced that Unluck makes her nothing but a danger to others. Andy, on the other hand, sees her curse as a treasure chest of possibilities and immediately starts experimenting with it in the most reckless way possible. The core of the chapter is essentially training through mayhem. Andy forces Fuuko to confront how her ability really works, pushing her to understand that affection, intent, and awareness change the scale of the misfortune. It is a brilliant piece of plot progression because it turns Unluck from a vague tragedy into a usable, rule-based power. Fuuko goes from passively apologizing for existing to actively trying to trigger her power, which is a huge first step in her character development. She is still shy and awkward, but you can see the spark of agency returning. Emotionally, the chapter balances dark comedy with genuine warmth. Andy is loud, perverted, and completely unbothered by being blown apart, yet his encouragement never feels cruel. He treats Fuuko like a partner, not a weapon, and that acceptance hits hard for someone who has spent years in isolation gloves. Their banter, full of shameless jokes and over-the-top reactions, cements their chemistry as the heart of the series. Artistically, Yoshifumi Tozuka leans fully into absurd action choreography. The unluck accidents feel massive and cinematic, with crumbling debris, exaggerated impact lines, and Andy regenerating with a manic grin. The facial acting is standout too, contrasting Fuuko's panicked blushes with Andy's feral excitement, making every page feel alive with Shonen Jump energy.
