20th Century Electric Catalog: Eureka Evrica Anime's Japan Premiere Takes Place – Voice Cast Meets Fans

The Japan premiere of the 20th Century Electric Catalog: Eureka Evrica anime was held on June 14 at the Shinjuku Piccadilly cinema in Tokyo. At the event, lead voice actors Yuma Uchida (Sakamoto Kihachi) and Sora Amamiya (Momokawa Ineko) along with director Minoru Ota held a talk session with fans after a special screening of the first three episodes.
The screening attracted a large audience who watched the anime for the first time. Uchida expressed his excitement at the energetic flow of the animation, saying, “The movement on screen is so intense that our eyes can't keep up.” Amamiya responded to this comment humorously, causing laughter in the hall. Director Ota briefly mentioned the challenges they faced in creating the project's visual style and period atmosphere.
20th Century Electric Catalog is a historical fantasy adaptation of the manga of the same name. The story is set in early 20th-century Japan during the Meiji Period, when electricity was just beginning to spread. Young inventor Sakamoto Kihachi meets a mysterious girl named Momokawa Ineko and discovers the limits of electric power. While the manga stands out for its detailed period depiction and sci-fi elements, the anime adaptation was eagerly anticipated by fans.
Although the premiere event took place only in Japan, the anime is being prepared for worldwide release. The production is expected to air on Japanese TV channels this summer (July 2025) and subsequently on international platforms (such as Crunchyroll). The high-quality animation and period-appropriate music seen in the trailers make the series one of the most notable productions of the year.
Including the first three episodes in the screening also brought some risk of spoilers. Prior to the event, viewers waiting for the TV broadcast were warned to be cautious. Still, the early preview gave fans important hints about the story's pace and character dynamics. In particular, the chemistry between Uchida and Amamiya suggests that their voice performances will play a key role in the series' success.
More details regarding the official release date and number of episodes are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. 20th Century Electric Catalog is poised to be one of the most ambitious productions of summer 2025 for both manga readers and period anime fans.
