New Trailer Released for Blue Lock Live-Action Movie: Who Will Play Anri Teieri Is Revealed!

Exciting news from the live-action film adaptation of the Blue Lock series, which has taken the football world by storm! The production team has shared a brand-new trailer focusing on one of the series' most iconic moments: the breathtaking clash between Team Z and Team V. Along with the trailer, it has been officially confirmed who will portray one of the project's key characters, Anri Teieri: young talent Mei Hata will appear as the ambitious employee of the Japan Football Association.
The newly released trailer showcases the high-tension rivalry between Isagi Yoichi (Fumiya Takahashi) and the genius player Seishiro Nagi (K from &TEAM) in such detail for the first time. Directed by Yusuke Taki, the film had the actors undergo professional football training for approximately 1.5 years to enhance the realism of the football scenes. Expectations from fans are quite high, as the production company Credeus has previously delivered successful adaptations such as Kingdom and Golden Kamuy.
Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, Blue Lock has become one of the greatest successes in modern manga history, selling over 50 million copies worldwide. Planned to coincide with the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the film will be released in theaters in Japan on August 7, 2026. The story follows the process of locking 300 young strikers in a facility to create the world's greatest "egoist" striker so that Japan can win the World Cup.
Featuring a cast that includes Masataka Kubota (Ego Jinpachi), Kaito Sakurai (Meguru Bachira), and Kyohei Takahashi (Hyoma Chigiri), this massive production promises not just a sports film, but also a psychological thriller. The quality of the visual effects in the trailer and the faithfulness of the characters to their manga appearances have already received great praise on social media. As a next step, we are eagerly awaiting official announcements regarding the film's international distribution rights and its release date in Turkey.
