Allegations Against Buta Productions Co-founder FAR Withdrawn: Let Me Fix You Anime Continues Its Journey

A development that caused a great stir in the anime world occurred in recent weeks. The 'grooming' (emotional manipulation and abuse) allegations made by X/Twitter user Maryco against Buta Productions co-founder Federico Antonio Russo (FAR) have been withdrawn. This significant development delighted fans of the Let Me Fix You anime, which had been postponed due to the allegations and whose future was uncertain. The project is aimed to be released in mid-June with a new team.
The events began in early May 2026 with serious accusations by Maryco targeting FAR on social media. Maryco claimed that FAR had manipulated her for four years, and this situation began in 2021 when she was 14 and FAR was 23. These allegations were supported by a 33-page document and message logs, causing a major shock in the industry. Following the accusations, it was announced that Buta Productions had ceased operations and the production of the Let Me Fix You anime had been suspended.
Buta Productions was an independent 2D anime studio founded in 2024 by Federico Antonio Russo (FAR) and Blou. FAR served as the studio's president and CEO, and the duo had approximately 4-5 years of experience in the anime industry. They had taken on roles such as translation and production assistance in productions like Wonder Egg Priority (2021). The Let Me Fix You anime was an adaptation of Sakura Kurihara's dark yuri (girls' love) manga Kimi wo Tsumugu. The story follows Tsumugi, a quiet and talented tailor, as she meticulously mends and repairs the physical form of Chise, a half-alive, half-dead girl, and a deep connection forms between them.
