In the fourth week poll published by Anime Corner for the Summer 2026 season, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity made its first appearance on the rankings. The production adapting the final arc of Tite Kubo's manga once again proved to be one of the most talked-about anime of the season by appearing on the weekly list.
Bleach was a series published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016, reaching a massive 74-volume collection. Because the first anime adaptation, which began in 2004, ended in 2012, it took exactly 10 years for the Thousand-Year Blood War final arc to reach the screen. This final part of the series was officially announced in 2022 and was planned as four separate cours under Studio Pierrot and director Tomohisa Taguchi. Part 1 aired in 2022, Part 2 in 2023, and Part 3 in 2024.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity brings the manga's final battle to animation. This part, which completes the story of Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida against Yhwach and the Sternritter, will also decide the fate of Soul Society. The narrative, expanded by Kubo with anime-original scenes, is particularly notable for new details that fill in information from the manga.
