Arcanadea TV Anime Announces New Cast: Series Premieres January 2027
Arcanadea TV anime has finally revealed when the wait will end. Along with the new promotional video, it was announced that the anime will air in January 2027, and the new voice actors joining the cast were also announced. It was once again confirmed that the anime is directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi and produced at Yokohama Animation Lab.
The newly released video offers the clearest look yet at the series' unique world, which blends science fiction and fantasy. The video shows how faithfully the detailed designs from Kotobukiya's model kits have been translated into the anime. Although the full list of characters that the newly added cast members will voice has not yet been detailed, the promotional video showcases the main characters' appearances in the animation and the atmosphere. For those unfamiliar, Arcanadea is a plastic model (plamo) series developed by Kotobukiya with a large fan base. The series is considered the spiritual successor to Kotobukiya's successful "bishoujo plamo" projects such as Frame Arms Girl and Megami Device. The Arcanadea universe tells the story of girls who make contracts with Deas to fight monsters in a world where technology and magic are intertwined. Among the series' most well-known characters are Deas such as the angel-type Lumitea, the demon-type Velvet, and the mermaid-type Elena. The universe, which has expanded through manga and drama CDs in addition to model kits, is now preparing to appear before audiences for the first time as a full-fledged TV anime.
The names behind the project also raise expectations considerably. Director Keiichiro Kawaguchi is an experienced figure who has previously directed projects across many different genres, such as Hayate the Combat Butler, Shadowverse, and Spy Classroom (Spy Kyoushitsu). Animation studio Yokohama Animation Lab, on the other hand, has made a name for itself in recent years with productions such as The Great Cleric, Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau), and I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!. The studio's success, particularly in reflecting cute character designs and fantasy worlds, is seen as a very suitable choice for Arcanadea's colorful and detailed world.
The January 2027 date makes the Arcanadea anime one of the most notable productions of the 2027 Winter Season.
