A New "Death Game" from the Creator of Fate/Grand Order: Lunar Pulse Announced

Yosuke Shiokawa, one of the gaming world's prestigious names and known as the visionary behind Fate/Grand Order, is embarking on an exciting project with his new studio, Fahrenheit 213 (213℉). Developed in collaboration with Japanese developer Gianty, Lunar Pulse will meet PC players on Steam in 2027. Making its debut at the Indie Live Expo 2026 event, the title draws attention with its "death game" approach to classic card games.
Lunar Pulse invites players into a dark fantasy world trapped in eternal moonlight. In the game, we will control the character "Lilith of Heresy," who occupies the 13th seat that should not exist in a mysterious ritual where 13 witches attempt to destroy one another. The game's most striking mechanic is its ultra-fast 1v1 battles. In these duels, where the 5 cards in both players' hands are completely visible, moves are made simultaneously. The developers describe this system, where a single mistake can lead to instant death, as "Soulslike tension in card battles."
The depth of the game is not limited to combat mechanics; the storytelling is also quite ambitious. Players will have to make "Forgive or Forsake" decisions for the other 12 witches they encounter. These choices will radically change the course of the game, opening the door to dozens of different endings. Enriched by the narration of professional voice actor Teiko Nanahara, this dark atmosphere will force players to discover the true secrets of the world in every cycle.
The name behind this project, Yosuke Shiokawa, has a deep-rooted history in the gaming industry. Having served as lead planner on Kingdom Hearts II and concept director on Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Shiokawa left Delightworks in 2022 to establish his own independent studio, Fahrenheit 213. The studio's goal is not to appeal to everyone's tastes, but to create "irreplaceable" experiences for certain players. Lunar Pulse, along with the studio's other highly anticipated project, the action RPG TSURUGIHIME, will be one of the biggest steps in Fahrenheit 213's journey of independence.
The development process, which will continue until 2027, also includes the localization of the game into 15 different languages. These high-tension card battles, which last less than 60 seconds and intertwine strategy and reflexes, are already a subject of great curiosity for fans of the genre. When Shiokawa's storytelling and Gianty's technical experience combine, Lunar Pulse is expected to bring a fresh breath to the roguelite genre.
