A "Maid Day" Surprise from the Roshidere Anime Team: New Visual of Alya and Yuki Shared

The anime team for Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san (shortened to Roshidere), which is preparing to meet audiences in July, did not let Maid Day (Meido no Hi), celebrated annually on May 10th in Japan, pass by unnoticed. In the new visual shared via the series' official social media accounts, the story's main protagonist Alisa "Alya" Mikhailovna Kujou and Yuki Suou were presented to fans in classic maid outfits. The reason for choosing May 10th in Japan is based entirely on a pun; the sound created when combining the month of May and the number 10 (To/Do) evokes the Japanese word "meido," which means "maid."
The anime, produced by Doga Kobo studio, was originally scheduled to air in April 2024. However, the production team postponed the premiere date to July 3, 2024, in order to maximize animation quality and provide a more satisfying experience for fans. The care shown by the studio, known for successful productions like Oshi no Ko, is evident in every new visual released. The voice cast of the series features the famous seiyuu Sumire Uesaka, who brings the character of Alya to life, accompanied by Kohei Amasaki in the role of Masachika.
Roshidere is based on a popular light novel series originally written by Sunsunsun and illustrated by Momoco. The story follows Alya, a half-Russian, half-Japanese girl known as the "lonely princess" of the school, as she expresses her feelings toward the lazy student sitting next to her, Masachika Kuze, by whispering in Russian. Although Alya whispers the most romantic words thinking Masachika does not understand Russian, Masachika actually understands Russian.
