New News from the LV999 no Murabito Anime: The Voice Actor for Menou Has Been Announced!

One of the charismatic voices of the voice acting world, Yuichiro Umehara, has joined the cast of the LV999 no Murabito (The Villager of Level 999) anime, which will meet audiences in July 2026. Umehara will bring to life the character Menou, a demon who comes from a deep-rooted and respected family. The depth that the artist, known for major productions such as Goblin Slayer and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Weather Report), will add to this noble and mysterious character has already become a subject of great curiosity among fans.
Adapted from the original light novel series written by Koneko Hoshitsuki and illustrated by Fuumi, the production is set in the world of Earthclear, where RPG dynamics prevail. The story centers on the adventures of Kagami Koji, who, despite being born into the 'Villager' class—seen as the weakest link in society—reaches level 999 with incredible determination. After discovering the power of money, Kagami challenges the world's unjust class system and established order with the level he reached after years of hunting monsters.
The production of the anime is helmed by the Brain's Base studio, known for its high-quality work. Directed by Yoshinobu Kasai, the series features Satoshi Inomata as the main character Kagami and Nao Toyama as Alice, the daughter of the Demon King. The cast also includes star names such as Nobunaga Shimazaki (Rex), Aoi Koga (Tina), and Manaka Iwami (Kururu). Having sold over 3.8 million copies and reaching its 20th manga volume, this popular series is preparing to leave its mark on the summer season with its strong voice cast.
LV999 no Murabito goes beyond being just an 'overpowered' character story; it explores the quest for a world where humans and demons can live together. With the announcement of key characters like Menou, there are signals that the series' political and social depth will be successfully transferred to the anime. This adventure, which will begin in July on TV Tokyo and BS Fuji, will be a must-watch for anime enthusiasts who love the fantasy genre.
