Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi's Final Trailer Released

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi's final trailer has been released. The production will meet viewers worldwide on Disney+ on August 5, 2025. The trailer highlights the lightsaber choreography and dark atmosphere of the anime by Production I.G.
The new production brings the story of The Ninth Jedi, one of the most talked-about episodes in the first season of Star Wars: Visions released in 2021, to the screen with an expanded narrative. Kenji Kamiyama, the director of the original short film, is also at the helm of this new animation. Kamiyama is an experienced anime director known for works such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
The Ninth Jedi tells the story of lightsaber master Jin and his Force-sensitive daughter Kara and the events they experience in a mysterious Jedi temple. The short film ended with Kara emerging as the Ninth Jedi. Fans are eagerly awaiting how the new production will expand this story and where it will begin.
This project is the first work announced under the Star Wars: Visions Presents banner. Lucasfilm's anthology series drew attention for giving Japanese animation studios the freedom to tell stories. Therefore, the return of a beloved episode as an expanded anime is a significant development for Star Wars and anime fans.
The final trailer confirms the release date is approaching but doesn't fully reveal the story's surprises. If this special production is well-received, it's possible we may see expanded versions of other popular episodes from the anthology under the Visions Presents banner. For now, all eyes are turned to the Disney+ release on August 5.
