Sega Stars at Anime Expo 2025: Iizuka, Wada, and Soejima to Appear as Guests

Anime Expo 2025 is coming with a blockbuster guest list from the Sega front. Event organizers announced the participation of Takashi Iizuka (head of Sonic Team) from the creative team of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, iconic designer Shigenori Soejima of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, and producer Kazuhisa Wada of the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series. Additionally, Yoshiyuki Asai and Atsushi Nomura are also on the list.
The guest list is not limited to Sega; it also includes representatives from the light novel and game adaptation Blade & Bastard and officials from DRECOM. Blade & Bastard has recently attracted attention with its dark fantasy story set in the universe of the popular Wizardry series. DRECOM is known as a production company that has produced anime projects such as Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There! and By the Grace of the Gods.
This year's Anime Expo will take place from July 3-6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The panel programs and autograph sessions of the Sega team are highly anticipated. In particular, fans are eagerly waiting for Takashi Iizuka to give hints about new Sonic games, Shigenori Soejima to say something about Persona 6 or a new Atlus project. Similarly, Kazuhisa Wada is likely to make announcements about the future of the Like a Dragon series.
Anime Expo aims to be one of the most important meeting points of the gaming and anime industries this year, as it is every year. Sega bringing together such high-profile names once again shows the importance the company places on anime and game adaptations. The event schedule will be clarified in the coming weeks. Fans have already started counting down the days, especially for the Sonic, Persona, and Like a Dragon panels.
