Crunchyroll and STARZ Offer Bundle Subscription on Amazon Prime Video

Anime News Network reports that Crunchyroll and STARZ have launched a bundled subscription together on Amazon Prime Video in the US. The package, offered at a monthly price of $16.99, brings the two services together under a single account within Prime Video Channels. This move, which brings anime viewers and premium series followers together, is one of the latest examples of the bundling trend in the streaming world.
Thanks to the package, users will be able to access Crunchyroll's anime archive and simulcast episodes airing simultaneously, as well as STARZ's productions such as Outlander, Power, and Spartacus, with a single subscription. Offering a more affordable price point compared to separate subscriptions, the bundle also simplifies subscription management for those who follow different genres. The single-bill advantage stands out especially for users who watch both anime and Western-produced series/films.
Crunchyroll was founded in 2006 and joined Sony's fold in 2021. The platform, which hosts popular series such as One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Chainsaw Man, also incorporated Funimation's catalog in the process. STARZ, on the other hand, is a premium channel known for its drama and fantasy productions, representing Western-style content in this partnership.
This deal stands out as part of Amazon Prime Video's channel-based subscription model. As Amazon offers third-party platforms under one roof, companies are also trying bundled offers to reduce subscriber cancellations. Thus, Crunchyroll and STARZ also get the chance to expand their audiences.
For now, the package is only available in the US. Crunchyroll is known to offer service directly in many countries, including Turkey; however, since STARZ's international reach is more limited, it is not yet clear when this combination will expand globally. Still, the overall direction of the industry shows that platforms prefer reaching users through partnerships rather than trying to attract subscribers alone. In the coming months, we may see similar bundle announcements for other platforms.
