Square Enix has officially announced the next major step for Final Fantasy XIV, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with millions of players worldwide. The new expansion, titled Evercold and designated as the 8.0 update, will meet players in January 2027. The first trailer released opens a brand new chapter in the game's story, promising fans freezing temperatures and mysterious new regions.
