Garena and Pocketpair Announce Palworld Online: Mobile MMORPG Coming in 2026
Big news from the Palworld front. Garena and Pocketpair have officially announced Palworld Online, which will bring the popular survival game to mobile platforms. The title will meet players in 2026.
According to Anime Corner, Palworld Online will bring the existing Palworld experience to mobile devices with a brand-new online multiplayer format. The game aims to offer monster collecting, base building, survival, and exploration mechanics within an MMORPG structure. Currently, there is no clear information on gameplay details, platforms, or a beta schedule.
Palworld, developed by Japanese studio Pocketpair, entered Early Access on January 19, 2024, as an open-world survival and crafting game. Shortly after its release, the game went viral with comparisons to "Pokémon with guns," and it amassed a large community thanks to its gameplay that freely combines Pal catching and base building. In its first year, the game reached over 25 million players on Steam and Xbox, a rare success for an independent title.
In this new project, Garena's mobile gaming expertise comes into play. Singapore-based Garena is known for mobile games that have reached billions of users, such as Free Fire, and stands out for its live service operations, particularly in Southeast Asian and Latin American markets. Palworld Online stands out as a major collaboration that combines Garena's experience with Pocketpair's creative world.
The announcement also carries extra significance as it comes amid Pocketpair's ongoing patent lawsuit with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo. Palworld did not yet have an official mobile release; this partnership has the potential to offer fans an official and large-scale mobile experience.
