Genshin Impact 7.0 Brings Snezhnaya on August 12

HoYoverse has given a date for the next major update of Genshin Impact. Version 7.0 will meet players on August 12 and will add the long-awaited Snezhnaya region to the game. According to Anime Corner, the update will also introduce new playable characters. This announcement marks the official transition of Genshin Impact to one of the most critical stops in its journey across the continent of Teyvat.
In the universe of Genshin Impact, there are seven major nations, and Snezhnaya stands out as the last of them. After Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, and Natlan, players will now step into these snowy lands ruled by the Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa. Snezhnaya is also the center of the Fatui, one of the game's most impressive antagonist groups. The stories of Fatui members such as Tartaglia, La Signora, and Arlecchino, who have appeared before players over the years, will take on a much deeper context in this region.
Developed by HoYoverse, the game has been receiving major updates regularly since its release in 2020. With its free-to-play structure, open-world design, and gacha system, Genshin Impact quickly became not just a game but a global cultural phenomenon. During this process, side media related to the game were also added; in particular, the anime adaptation announced in 2023 and bearing the signature of ufotable continues to be one of the projects fans are eagerly waiting for.
How Version 7.0 will tell Snezhnaya's story, which characters will be playable, and what exploration mechanics the region will offer will become clear in the coming weeks. HoYoverse usually shares all the details of the update through a special showcase held shortly before the release. Therefore, the announcements made before August 12 will provide important clues about how both Snezhnaya and the final chapter of Teyvat's main story will take shape.
