Japan's weekly game sales report has been released. eBaseball: Pro Spirit 2026 landed in second place in its launch week, while Nihon Falcom's anime-style action RPG Kyoto Xanadu -Ōka Genbu- entered the top five on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 platforms. The data covers physical copy sales from July 13-19, 2026, and was announced by Anime News Network on July 27.
Kyoto Xanadu -Ōka Genbu- is the latest installment in Falcom's long-running Xanadu series. Set in Kyoto after Tokyo Xanadu, the title combines visual novel elements with real-time combat mechanics. The protagonist, Ōka Genbu, is connected to a mysterious power, and the story revolves around supernatural events lurking beneath the city. The series has previously held an important place in Japanese pop culture through anime adaptations and manga series.
The game, which entered the chart at fourth place on Switch and fifth on PS5, was eagerly anticipated by fans.
