Goro Majima Arrives in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds: Captain Majima Hits the Tracks with Free DLC!

Sega has shared an exciting update for the popular racing game Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Goro Majima, one of the most beloved and unpredictable characters from the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series, is stepping onto the race tracks under his "Captain Majima" persona. Released on April 29, 2026, this free DLC brings two of Sega's giant brands together in a fun crossover event.
This new content pack is not limited to just the character; players will also receive a special vehicle called the Goromaru, which reflects Majima's unique style. Additionally, character-specific voice lines and emojis showcasing his iconic moves are included in the pack. This collaboration was designed to celebrate the success of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which was released in early 2025 and features Majima setting sail on the high seas as a pirate.
Goro Majima is known in the gaming world as the "Mad Dog of Shimano," a chaotic yet loyal character. Created by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, this legend has captured fans' hearts for years as both a friend and rival to Kazuma Kiryu. Sega's inclusion of Majima in a kart racer is not surprising at all, given the character's absurd and versatile nature; after all, we have seen him singing karaoke, managing construction sites, and even dressed as a drag queen!
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has continued to expand its roster since its launch in September 2025. We have previously seen famous guests like Red from Angry Birds and Mega Man in the game; Arle from the Puyo Puyo series is expected to join next May. Sega's "CrossWorld" strategy aims to offer players a fresh experience at all times by merging different universes. The game's graphics, developed with Unreal Engine 5, blend Majima's pirate aesthetic with Sonic's colorful world perfectly.
As part of the Golden Week sales currently ongoing on Steam, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available at a 40% discount, and there is also an opportunity to try the game for free throughout the weekend. Furthermore, with the "Captain Majima Festival" taking place between April 30 and May 3, players will be able to earn special in-game rewards. If you want to leave your rivals in the dust accompanied by Majima's famous laughter, don't miss this update!
