Toei Entertainment Studio Announces "Toei Games" Brand: First Game Arrives on April 24!

Toei Entertainment Studio, one of the most established names in the anime and cinema world, has officially announced its entry into the global gaming market. The company has launched its new brand, Toei Games, which is specifically structured for PC and console platforms. The first fruit of this exciting venture will be with us very soon; the brand's first game announcement will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Contrary to what many fans might expect, Toei Games will not initially focus on massive franchises like One Piece or Dragon Ball. According to the company's statement, the new brand's priority will be to create entirely new and original intellectual properties (IPs). Collaborating with talented developers from Japan and around the world, the studio aims to reach a global player base by transferring its experience in anime production to the gaming world.
Looking at the technical details, we see that Toei Games' first stop will be the PC platform via Steam. However, the plans are not limited to this; the company aims to bring its games to popular consoles such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox in the future. The special pixel art animation prepared for the brand's introduction was created by the famous game developer Kairosoft, inspired by Toei's iconic "waves crashing on rocks" (Araiso ni Nami) opening sequence.
This move is seen as part of Toei's long-term vision called "TOEI NEW WAVE 2033". Having existed in the gaming world by licensing its stories to publishers like Bandai Namco until now, Toei is now taking on the identity of a "publisher" that will deliver its own stories directly to players. CEO Fumio Yoshimura states that they want to make the gaming sector a new main pillar of the company alongside film and television.
So, what awaits us on April 24? Although there are no leaks yet regarding the genre or theme of the game, it is likely that we will see a high-budget production backed by Toei's visual storytelling power. For anime lovers, this means not just playing games of existing series, but discovering brand-new universes with Toei quality. We are also eagerly awaiting the big announcement on Friday!
