English Trailer Released for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Remake, Launching September 17

A new English trailer has been released for the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter remake. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2, and PC (Steam) on September 17, 2026. With scenes from Estelle Bright and Joshua's renewed journey, the trailer gives an extensive first look at the game's English localization.
Trails in the Sky is a series that began with the first installment released by Nihon Falcom in 2004 and established one of the most storied universes in the JRPG genre. The original 2nd Chapter (SC) was a direct sequel released for PC in Japan in 2006. With its story, character depth, and music, it became one of the most respected works not only among Trails fans but also in the genre as a whole. This remake serves as a continuation of the series in which Falcom revisits the Sky era with modern technology.
Falcom is a Japanese game studio known since 1981 for The Legend of Heroes and Ys series. The company continues the Trails universe today with modern games like Trails through Daybreak; therefore, the remakes of the Sky games serve as a bridge both for long-time fans and for new players looking to start the series from scratch. The new trailer highlighting the remastered graphics and updated gameplay shows that the game has been adapted to modern standards while preserving its classic narrative.
In addition to the September 17, 2026 release date, no announcement has been made yet regarding pre-orders or special editions. However, the release of the English trailer roughly a month before launch signals that the promotional process aimed at Western players is speeding up. While Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter remains one of the most critical installments in the Trails universe, this remake is expected to serve as an important gateway for new fans as the series moves forward.
