New Manga and Light Novel Licenses from Yen Press: Witches, Family, and Adventure-Filled Stories Are Coming

Yen Press, as one of the leading names in English manga and light novel publishing, added six new works to its collection with its announcement on June 12, 2026. Among these licenses, notable ones include Witches Can't Be Collared, Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!, Yamada's Class Diary, and the side story of the popular DanMachi series, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Familia Chronicle Episode Asfi. Also, a manga titled Mafia is among the licensed works.
This move is part of Yen Press's recent strategy to expand into niche genres and different aspects of Japanese pop culture. The company has previously introduced series that achieved both critical and commercial success, such as Spy x Family, Sword Art Online, and Horimiya, to English readers. With the new licenses, Yen Press's catalog becomes even more diverse, covering different genres like comedy, fantasy, drama, and romance.
Especially Witches Can't Be Collared is an exciting option for readers interested in witch-themed stories. This series focuses on witches' search for freedom and their conflicts with society. On the other hand, Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family! offers a warmer and more emotional family story, while Yamada's Class Diary deals with intimate moments of school life. Set in the DanMachi universe, Familia Chronicle Episode Asfi is a side story not to be missed for fans of the series.
Yen Press's license announcement is an indication that it continues to grow in the English manga market. Especially with the rise of digital publishing, such licensing agreements allow series to reach a global audience. Fans are eagerly waiting for when these new works will hit the shelves in physical and digital formats. Considering that Yen Press usually announces release dates within 6-12 months after the license announcement, it is likely that these titles will meet English readers in the first half of 2027.
