Volume 1 of the Manga Adaptation of Natsu Hyuuga's New Archaeology-Adventure Series 'Nazotoki Iseki Hakkutsubu' Published

Natsu Hyuuga is an author known worldwide to millions of readers for "The Apothecary Diaries" (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto). Now she presents readers with a completely different genre: archaeology and mystery. Hyuuga's new series, "Nazotoki Iseki Hakkutsubu" (Mystery Excavation Team), released its first volume on June 18, with a manga adaptation of the same-named novel series illustrated by Isuzu Shibata.
The series follows the adventures of a young archaeological team solving mysteries lost among prehistoric ruins and ancient civilizations. In the first volume, the team members encounter an unusual find at an interesting excavation site, and they begin to discover both the secrets of the past and the bonds among themselves. This new work by Hyuuga combines her delicate character development and fluent narrative style from "The Apothecary Diaries" with an entirely different atmosphere.
The illustrator of the manga adaptation, Isuzu Shibata, previously contributed to "The Apothecary Diaries" anthologies and was noted for her unique drawing style. This time, Shibata takes readers on a journey through time by meticulously drawing archaeological remains and historical sites. The first volume was met with great excitement in Japan and quickly sold out. Readers in Turkey will have to wait for the series to become available on digital platforms or through imported books.
This new series seems likely to attract particular interest from fans of "The Apothecary Diaries". Instead of court intrigues and medical mysteries, Hyuuga now reaches into prehistoric times, but her signature remains in the dialogues between characters and cleverly crafted puzzles. Since archaeology-themed works are rare in the manga world, this series could bring a fresh breath to the genre. The release date for the second volume has not been announced yet, but Japanese publishers usually plan to release a new volume every six months. No official announcement has been made for a Turkish translation; hopefully, local publishers will soon bring this exciting series to readers.
