New Manga Coming from Mami Tsumura, Creator of Kotaro Lives Alone: Tanosuke no Kawazanyō Launches on September 11

Mami Tsumura is back with a new story! The beloved creator of the Kotaro Lives Alone (Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi) series is preparing to return to the manga scene with her new manga Tanosuke no Kawazanyō. It has been officially announced that the new series will begin publication on September 11.

Although not all details about the new series' plot and the magazine in which it will be serialized have been shared yet, Tsumura's signature warm, humane, and emotional storytelling style is expected to continue in this new project. The name Tanosuke no Kawazanyō signals that, like her previous works, it will offer a character-driven drama from everyday life. Mami Tsumura is known especially for telling themes such as loneliness, trauma, and solidarity in the adult world through child characters, blending humor and tears. Kotaro Lives Alone received full marks from critics for tackling heavy subjects like parental neglect and abuse beneath its cute artwork.
