Initial D and Subaru to Suisei Special "Sacred Site" Map Stamp Notebooks Are Coming: Shuichi Shigeno Fans Hit the Road!

The legendary street racing series Initial D and mangaka Shuichi Shigeno's latest work Subaru to Suisei (Subaru and the Comet) are preparing to take fans on a journey along Japan's iconic roads. Hikari Terrace has announced a collection of Goshuincho (temple stamp notebooks) specially designed for these two series, featuring "sacred site" (seichi junrei) maps. Pre-sales, which will begin on April 29, will be offered to fans in conjunction with Japan's Golden Week holiday.
The notebook prepared for Initial D fans features a special cover illustration drawn by Shuichi Shigeno himself, celebrating the series' 30th anniversary. The map provided with this notebook, which features members of Project D, covers the legendary mountain passes in Gunma prefecture and locations bearing the traces of Takumi Fujiwara. Fans visiting Mount Haruna (known as Akina in the series) and the surrounding temples, in particular, will be able to use these notebooks as both a souvenir book and a guide.
On the other hand, a similar project has been carried out for Subaru to Suisei, the new manga that follows Shigeno's MF Ghost series. This notebook focuses on the Kanagawa and Gunma regions where the adventures of the series' two main characters, Subaru Sato and Subaru Kudo, take place. These products, which will be sold for 3,000 Yen (excluding tax), stand out not only as collector's items but also as a part of the anime tourism culture in Japan. Subaru to Suisei is drawing attention as a work that began in 2025 and combines the Initial D universe with the modern racing world.
The fusion of Goshuincho notebooks, traditionally used to collect stamps during temple visits in Japan, with anime themes has become a very popular trend among fans in recent years. These "sacred site" visits, called "Seichi Junrei," allow fans to see the real-life locations where their favorite scenes take place. This new step by Hikari Terrace brings together both long-time Initial D followers seeking nostalgia and the new generation of racing enthusiasts at a common point. If your path leads you to the winding mountain roads of Japan, these notebooks could be the most valuable part of your journey!
