The Haikyu!! Legend Returns: New Exhibition Announcement from Haruichi Furudate

We have exciting news for fans of the Haikyu!! series, which has taken the world of volleyball by storm! The series creator, Haruichi Furudate, has announced a new original art exhibition titled "Haruichi Furudate Haikyu!! Exhibition: Challengers." This special event, which will be held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo, will open its doors on October 30, 2026, and will continue to welcome visitors until January 11, 2027. This exhibition is seen as one of the greatest proofs of how the series has maintained its popularity even after its finale.
One of the most striking aspects of the exhibition is the new key visual drawn personally by Haruichi Furudate for this event. In this visual, titled "Posture Correction," we see the series' main protagonists Shoyo Hinata, Tobio Kageyama, Kei Tsukishima, and Tadashi Yamaguchi as high school seniors (3rd-year students). This illustration serves as a tribute to the final Spring Tournament period of Hinata and Kageyama, which was touched upon in chapter 370 of the manga series. The exhibition will feature rare original manuscripts by Furudate, previously unseen sketches, and new illustrations exclusive to the series.
Although Haikyu!! completed its journey that began in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2012 back in 2020, its impact continues to grow every day. The manga, which has sold over 75 million copies worldwide, is among the modern classics of the sports genre. In particular, the massive success of the Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle movie, which was released in 2024 and surpassed the 20 billion yen (approximately 125 million dollars) mark worldwide, brought interest in the series back to its peak. This new exhibition marks the third major original art event in the series' history and offers fans a closer look at the characters' growth journey.
So, what awaits fans after the exhibition? The year 2027 looks like it will be quite busy for the Haikyu!! community. Immediately following the exhibition, the highly anticipated sequel film Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant and a special anime project, Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go, are planned to meet the audience. This exhibition will serve as both a nostalgic journey for long-time fans and a perfect bridge for newcomers to discover the genius of Haruichi Furudate. While ticket details are expected to be announced this summer, it is not yet clear whether the exhibition will travel to other cities after Tokyo.
