New Manga Series 'Yuraru Doubutsuki' Launches and 'Nobunaga Concerto' Returns

Today, the July issue of Gessan (Monthly Shōnen Sunday) magazine, published on June 12, announced two major pieces of news in the manga world. First, Miura Nizo's new series “Yuraru Doubutsuki” has officially begun. In the same issue, it was revealed that the popular historical manga “Nobunaga Concerto” will be resuming serialization after a long hiatus.
Miura Nizo is a mangaka previously known for “Sahashi-kun no Ayakashi Biyori”. In that series, they told the story of a young man intertwined with supernatural beings, and now they are tackling an entirely different genre. The new series “Yuraru Doubutsuki” appears to be a work focused on animals, as the name suggests. Although no detailed information about the plot has been given yet, the word 'yuraru' (swaying, undulating) in the title might indicate a calm and flowing observation of nature.
On the other hand, “Nobunaga Concerto” was an even bigger surprise for manga fans. This series, written by Ayumi Ishii, follows a young man transported from modern times to the Sengoku period, who alters history as Oda Nobunaga. The manga, which has been serialized since 2009, received great acclaim with an anime adaptation in 2014 and later a live-action drama. However, the series had been on an indefinite hiatus for some time. Now, the end of this hiatus has generated great excitement, especially in Japan and among the international fanbase.
Both announcements came via Shogakukan's Gessan magazine. Although published monthly, the magazine consistently hosts high-quality series. With Miura Nizo's new series and the return of Nobunaga Concerto, this month's issue has become a veritable turning point. We will be closely following both manga in the coming months. In particular, fans of Nobunaga Concerto are eagerly awaiting how the story will continue from where it left off.
