New Series from Yū Yoshinaga: "Saredo, Futari wa Kusare Koi" Launches in Betsucomi

Yū Yoshinaga — the name behind beloved works like "Master Love Diary" (主人恋日記) — has returned with a long-awaited new series. Launching in the July issue of Betsucomi released on June 12, "Saredo, Futari wa Kusare Koi" (されど、ふたりはくされ恋) focuses on a 'moldy relationship' as the title suggests. This time, the stage is the story of two high school students pushing the boundaries of a nearly lifelong friendship.
According to the official announcement, the series is a youth romance (青春ラブ) about two childhood friends who have been in a "moldy relationship for over ten years." Mangaka Yoshinaga, as in her previous works, aims to deliver a narrative rich in emotional depth and woven with realistic dialogue. Betsucomi magazine, under Shogakukan, hosts one of the most established shōjo manga; therefore, the new series is expected to generate excitement especially among young female readers.
Having made a big breakthrough with "Master Love Diary" in the past, Yoshinaga blended a master-servant relationship with romantic comedy in that work. In her new series, she tackles a more ordinary yet equally complex dynamic: a friendship that has persisted since childhood and become a habit that now 'smells moldy.' The tension between the two characters' dependency on each other and the pains of growing up seems to form the core conflict of the series.
Considering that the magazine regularly releases new chapters each month, "Saredo, Futari wa Kusare Koi" will continue to appear in the pages of Betsucomi in the coming months. For fans of Yoshinaga's heartfelt storytelling in her previous works, this new series offers a similar flavor but a different recipe. Whether the first chapter will be officially published on a platform in Turkey is still unclear; however, those who want to follow it in its original Japanese can check out Betsucomi's digital editions.
