Here U Are Webtoon Gets Anime Adaptation: Trailer, Cast, and Release Date Announced

Here U Are, one of China's most beloved BL (Boys' Love) manhuas, is officially getting an anime adaptation. In an announcement made on July 3, 2026, Crunchyroll shared the series' voice cast, production team, first trailer, key visual, and streaming details. This news, long awaited by fans, has become a great source of excitement, especially for viewers interested in the BL genre.
Here U Are is a webtoon that was first published in China between 2017 and 2020 and quickly gained a global fanbase. Drawn by its author DJUN (EunJung), the series tells a fragile yet profound love story set on a university campus. The relationship between the main characters Li Huan and Yu Yang stands out for its emotional depth and realistic character development. The manhua garnered great attention not only in China but also in Korea and Japan during its release. Crunchyroll bringing this production to the international platform is an important step for the BL genre to gain more presence in the mainstream anime world.
Although the studio responsible for the anime adaptation has not yet been officially announced, given Crunchyroll's previous collaborations on projects like Yuri!!! on Ice and Given, a high-quality production is expected. The voice cast features experienced seiyuu: Junya Enoki will voice Li Huan, and Yuma Uchida will voice Yu Yang. The director is Shinichi Omata (known for works such as March Comes in Like a Lion and Kaguya-sama: Love is War). The screenplay is written by Yuniko Ayana. In the trailer, the original webtoon's soft color palette and character designs are preserved, while the animation is stunning.
The release date is slated for the first quarter of 2027. Crunchyroll has announced that it will stream the series simultaneously worldwide (excluding some regions outside Asia). Separate licensing processes are ongoing for Japan and Korea. The Here U Are anime adaptation aims not only at BL fans but also at all viewers who love emotional and character-driven romantic stories. In the coming months, new character posters and additional voice actors are expected to be revealed. This adaptation is also an indicator of the growth of webtoon-manhua adaptations in the anime industry: following last year's productions like Solo Leveling and The Boxer, Here U Are will be the newest link in this trend.
