New Visual Released for Eleceed Anime: Release Date Postponed to 2027

Eleceed, one of the most beloved action series in the webtoon world, is preparing to step into the anime world, but the wait will be a little longer. According to the latest official announcement, a new key visual has been shared for the series' television anime adaptation. However, alongside this exciting development, it was announced that the production, initially planned for 2026, has been postponed to early 2027. While this delay is viewed as an effort to maintain the highest level of production quality, the names behind the animation continue to keep fan expectations high.
Eleceed follows the adventures of Jiwoo Seo, a cat-loving teenager known for his speed and hidden powers, and Kayden Break, one of the world's most powerful "awakened" warriors who is currently trapped in the body of a fat cat. The anime adaptation is being handled by DandeLion Animation Studio, which achieved great success with the film The First Slam Dunk. In the director's chair sits Hiroshi Nishikiori, known for the A Certain Magical Index series. On the screenwriting side, an experienced name like Yosuke Kuroda, who played a major role in the success of My Hero Academia, is involved.
The creative team behind the series consists of true giants of the manhwa world. The story is penned by Jeho Son, the author of the legendary Noblesse series, while the illustrations bear the signature of ZHENA (Hye-jin Kim), known for Girls of the Wild's. Starting its publication on Naver Webtoon in 2018, Eleceed has reached over 1.7 billion views worldwide since then. Regarding the anime announcement, author Jeho Son expressed his excitement by saying, "Sharing the news that Eleceed is being adapted into an anime is like a dream! This happened thanks to our incredible readers who love and support the series."
Although this wait until 2027 requires some patience from fans, the inclusion of key characters such as Jiwoo, Kayden, Wooin, and Jisuk Yoo in the newly shared visual keeps the excitement alive. Additionally, the production team aims to increase interaction with fans by launching an official Discord server and an English Instagram account. At the Anime Expo 2026 panel to be held next July, more details about the anime and possibly a new trailer are expected to be shared with the participation of original creators Jeho Son and ZHENA. For now, all we have to do is count down the days to this big meeting in 2027!
