Inside Men Prequel Film Announces Main Cast

The prequel to the 2015 film Inside Men, based on a webtoon, has officially announced its main cast. According to Anime News Network, the production set in the late 1980s will reveal how the power cartel depicted in the original film was formed.
The original Inside Men was adapted from the webtoon of the same name by renowned webtoon artist Yoon Tae-ho. The 2015 film, directed by Woo Min-ho, starred Lee Byung-hun, Cho Seung-woo, and Baek Yoon-sik in leading roles. The film centered on a corruption network involving politics, media, and the business world, and the revenge story of a fixer within that network.
Throughout his career, Yoon Tae-ho has created works known for their social criticism, such as Misaeng and Moss. As a continuation of this line, Inside Men drew over 9 million viewers at the South Korean box office in 2015, standing out particularly for Lee Byung-hun's performance. The prequel film aims to return to the dark origins of this successful universe and offer fans the beginning of the story.
Although the main cast names have been announced, details such as which characters these actors will portray and the project's director or release date have not yet been clarified. Set against the late 1980s, the film will center on alliances formed in the shadow of political and social turmoil. For Inside Men fans, this prequel could stand out both as a building block connecting to the original film and as an independent period thriller.
In the coming months, the production team is expected to share more cast and character information. The recent global interest in crime and political thriller genres in Korean cinema has made this prequel a highly anticipated project for international audiences as well as webtoon fans.
